"There is no beauty in the finest cloth if it makes hunger and unhappiness." - Mahatma Gandhi
Beyond foundation garments, I have not purchased new denim jeans (or any new clothes) for that matter in a very, very long time. Some of you may have seen me wear my beautiful #OOAK denim pieces, i.e. stoles, head wraps, chokers, skirts. They were constructed of recycled denim jeans because I decided years ago that I would be an active advocate and contributor to environmental sustainability. This means that I will only purchase essential quality clothing items, and at every opportunity I will be intentional about reducing, reusing, and recycling consumable goods.

Actually, this is not a new concept for Black folks. Black communities have been about survival and often times surviving with the most basic material goods. The only difference is "choice." Today, I choose to #LiveOnPurpose and with #EcoJoy.
